Small Moments, Big Wins: Celebrating the Everyday Realities of Breastfeeding

World Breastfeeding Week 2025

When we think about breastfeeding, we often picture the big milestones, the first successful latch, hitting six months of exclusive feeding, or reaching the one-year mark.
But what about the little things?

The quiet 3am feeds when the world is asleep
The relief of a good burp
The first time baby doesn’t need a nipple shield
That one day where it just… felt easier

These are the small wins - the unseen, everyday victories that make up the real breastfeeding journey. And they deserve to be celebrated.

Why small wins matter

Breastfeeding can be incredibly rewarding, but it's not always easy. Many mums face challenges in the early weeks, from latching issues and low supply to pain, exhaustion, and feelings of doubt. Yet every day, they show up again.

Acknowledging the small moments; the courage to ask for help, the confidence to trust your instincts, or the decision to rest instead of push through - helps build resilience and self-belief.

In fact, research has shown that celebrating small achievements can improve mental wellbeing and reduce the risk of burnout, something especially important for new parents navigating constant change and emotional load.

This World Breastfeeding Week, we see you

Whether you breastfed for one day or one year, every drop, every cuddle, every effort is valid. There’s no one-size-fits-all version of success, and no two journeys look the same.

This week, we want to honour the quiet wins:

The mama who asked for a lactation consult
The one who cried, then carried on
The one who chose to stop, and fed her baby with love
The one who pumped during work breaks to keep going just a little longer

You’re doing an incredible job. And we’re so proud to be part of your village.

Here’s to the small moments, because in the end, they’re the ones that shape everything 💕
